Juneau, Alaska 99802-1115

Dear Brother and Sister Pioneers:

You are cordially invited to attend the 97th Grand Igloo Convention in Juneau from September 18 to September 21, 2013.   The theme for our convention is “True Blue and Gold” which represents the colors of our state’s flag and the loyal and unwavering character of Alaska’s Pioneers.  Our theme recognizes the celebration of the 100 year anniversary of Men’s Igloo #6.

The convention will be held at Centennial Hall with registration beginning on Wednesday,
September 18.

There are several hotels within walking distance of the convention center that include the Baranof, Goldbelt, Driftwood and Prospector.  The Baranof will also provide a shuttle service to the convention center.  There are also several bed and breakfasts in the downtown area and several hotels and bed and breakfasts a little further away if you prefer to rent a car and have a short commute.  Check the enclosed housing list for special rates.

Alaska Airlines is offering a special 7% discount rate for the convention.  Please use the code ECMU331 to receive the discount.

We appreciate your donations of home-made foods for the mug ups.  Due to restrictions in our permit with the convention center we cannot accept items made with milk such as pies or meringues that require refrigeration.

If you have any questions concerning registration, please contact Dan or Lorinda Kassner at poa6juneau@gmail.com, (907) 586-1213 or take a tour of our new website.

Sincerely,

Fred Thorsteinson and Suzanne Haight
